Southwest Properties is a privately owned real estate business with over 1,250 residential apartments/condominiums, and numerous commercial properties located in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Equilibrium Engineering was contracted to help Southwest develop a functional energy management plan. Part of the development process was to audit the current operation of the residential and commercial properties. Equilibrium performed Screening Audits on all of Southwest’s commercial buildings, and Feasibility Studies for all of the residential properties.
A number of the Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) and Energy Management Opportunities (EMOs) have been implemented as a result of the studies, which has resulted in significant energy and operational cost savings.
“Thank you for the time and commitment extended to Southwest Properties over the last couple of years. We’ve said that Southwest is committed to taking a leadership role in energy management and sustainability in its role as owner, property manager and developer. And we are pleased to say that our partnership with Equilibrium Engineering is making this commitment more of a reality.”
