Julian Boyle P.Eng

Julian is a professional engineer with over 25 years experience in energy project financing and implementation for buildings. He brings unique insights and solutions based on his career experiences in both the private and public sectors. Julian has led teams implementing over $50M in successful energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in his career.

Julian has a strong track record of innovation, having successfully implemented innovative financing programs and projects – like revolving funds, energy performance contracts, wind power contracts and most recently the first PACE program in Canada – Halifax’s Solar City program which won a national award from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities in 2015. Julian has a deep technical understanding of building HVAC and energy use, having worked with Trane and Siemens that is complimented by extensive management, budget, regulatory and policy experience.

He has also taught part-time at his alumna matter, Saint Mary’s University. He has deep passion for the environment and developing win-win solutions in the green economy transition – and harnessing what could be the single largest economic opportunity in our lifetimes as the world responds to climate change. He hopes to leave a positive legacy for his two children, and that Nova Scotia won’t be an island.
