Building Economic Resilience with Science.
Equilibrium Engineering is leading deep energy retrofits of Windsor Elms Village; a non-profit, 108-bed Long Term Care Home built in 2010/11 in Falmouth, Nova Scotia.
After owning the building for 10 years, the Ecology Action Centre (EAC) realised that a major expansion and renovation of the century-old building were in order to accommodate more than 40 employees.
The mandate for the 2018 and 2019 ASHRAE energy assessments was for Equilibrium Engineering (EQ) to identify energy-saving opportunities by taking a large campus-style approach, with a focus on building envelopes, all major architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems as well as operational practices.
